| The 2001 Monterey Jazz Festival was the usual
great time with the usual cast of characters. In addition, this
was one of the best lineups of jazz in several years. For the
first time, Doria and I took an extra day off and stayed until
Tuesday. The festival ends Sunday night, so this gave us some
additional time for relaxing at the beach and hiking Point Lobos.
